Be The Light

In a world full of people who couldn’t care less, be someone who couldn’t care more.

When you look at someone and don’t like what you see, take a look in the mirror. Ouch, I know that was harsh. But I am dishing out some tough love today. You are human, you do have fleshly thoughts and actions. This is normal, however it is up to you as an individual how you can take those negative thoughts and turn them in to something good.

When you find yourself going down that rabbit hole of thinking bad thoughts about someone. The best course of action is to stop and take a serious self check. Ask yourself these questions… Am I walking in Love? Do I have compassion for others? If so, am I showing that compassion to others? Am I being kind and considerate of others? Self reflection is hard, however needed.

Your Christian shinning light to others can be dimmed by so many things; pride, greed, jealousy, anger, fear, and impatience just to name a few. You have the ability to repent of these feelings and show the fruits of the spirit through your actions.

In the Bible, John 1:6-10 introduces John as being sent by God to bear witness of the light so that others might believe. When you share your testimony of how God has worked in your life, you are shinning a light for the people around you that are having a hard time in their life.

Ask God everyday to show you how you can be of service to Him. Ask Him to show you how you can make a difference. Share your spiritual gifts, and Godly character will flow from you when you put others first. Pray to be used as a vessel for God’s glory.

Here are a few simple things that might help you with some Random Acts of Kindness:

  1. Pay it forward the next time you are at a restaurant drive thru.

  2. Send an encouraging note, instant message, or text to someone.

  3. Give an expected small package to someone for no reason.

  4. Make someone a special sweet treat. Come on y’all, everyone loves a good sweet treat. I have a great Apple Pie recipe in the blog article Vintage Apple. Check it out!

  5. Donate to shelters in your area with supplies and/or your time.

When you find yourself in a position to help someone, feel blessed. Because God is answering that person’s prayer through you. Your purpose is to be a light to others so they will find God and see His goodness and mercy.

At the end of the day before you lay your head down, be grateful for what you have done and be proud of who you are.

Love & Prayers,
